you know that guy that wont shut up in the drivers lounge, even when you walk away he's following you and still talking even though you've made it clear that you no longer care? Yeah, he's talking to that guy.

Well I sent an email next and got no response from that after 30mins either. So I went out to the truck and sent a message on the QC. No response on there after 30mins either so I called operations mngr. He got my load assignment changed for me to Monday, and said if my issue continues to let him know. I told him I hated to bother him, and not try and talk it out with my FM, but if he doesn't answer phones, emails, or QC messages then I can't talk it out.

fair enough, anyone can answer the QC. Well unless they're in a meeting but then the ops manager should have said something to that effect. Hope things get better for you.
-
Hope you get it worked out.

My FM generally answers within 2 mins unless he is in a meeting or away from his desk, same for q-com. With this new system the FM's have had a lot of training time.

Op mngr, says my FM left day after it started, really 3, and hasn't had time to get used to it yet. So I give him the benefit of the doubt, but I think the phone still answers the same way, as well as emails do. Either way, I'll give him some more time, so hopefully he will help communicate with me better.

Our folks answer pretty quick- BUT, 20 years ago JB Hunt drivers had to do ALL their business by payphone. We used to find a row of payphones (hopefully 3 next to each other). You dial the 1-800# on the phone to the right, put the receiver in your ear. Dial the middle phone, lay the handset on top of the phone. Dial the phone on your left, put the handset on top of the phone. By then the phone on the right would be ringing or busy. If it was busy, you'de push the switch down and start over. Then pick up the middle phone- check it- busy or ringing, hang up, redial, check the phone on the left.... etc, etc...
It was common to order a meal (with slow service), eat your meal (slowly), have 3 or 4 cups of coffee, tell a few trucking stories and shoot the bull for awhile with the telephone in your right ear.
THEN, your dispatcher would answer, put you on hold- then tell you to call back in ten minutes.
Seriously.
Yes, REALLY. -
mine generally answers within a minute or two.hope it gets better for you

I hang up if when I hit the 10 minute mark. After the second or possibly third time I get a different FM to answer my call and usually my questions are generic that any FM could answer by typing my number in the computer.
I also have a new Ops Manager, haven't talked to him yet lol...
