I have Yokohamas on my steers. Now at 140k. And still have about 6/32. Happy.

471,000 on my Firestone drives. 8/32nds tread left on them . All wearing evenly.
Now don't ask how many steer tires I've gone through. Can only get about 70,000 tops out of them, but I run at 14,000 lbs + on my steer axle.

I think it's called the hsr2. I'm not at the truck to verify that tho so don't hold me to it.

I'm glad they work for you I ran them for several hundred thousand myself and saw no improvement. It's impossible or at best inadequate for a small tube sandwiched between the two drive tires to balance one let alone two of those tires.

I'm running some Bandag recaps on my spread axle. They're starting to wear on inside corners just like last set of tires that was on there.

Have you ever checked alignment? Wouldn't hurt to check wheel bearing adjustment. If they're set on the loose side you can get irregular wear on the inside edge.

I did alignment before putting on new tires. I'm renting this trailer and maintain it myself. Ill be buying my own trailer eventually, just have to make this one last til then.

Found there was a big difference between alignment shops as well.

My truck was purchased used with Bridgestone 726 EL drives & Bridgestone steers. Had the front end aligned as noticed some irregular wear. Alignment shop said all was within spec.
1 year later the right front blew out & replaced with Goodyear 399 steers. Another alignment with a tech stating all is within spec. Same thing, did not wear properly & were done in 60-80k miles.
Replaced with 16 ply Michelin XZA3+ & had another highly recommended shop do a 3 axle alignment. They found things were NOT within spec. Go figure.

Replaced the 726EL drive tires with Michelin XDN2's. Not really sure how many miles are on them at this point. But they wear like iron. Would highly recommend the XDN2's or the 726EL's for absolute overall tire life. Their rolling resistance numbers are higher, but most tire shops will tell you there is a bit of a trade off between overall tire life & rr numbers.
