Yeah. Agreed. To say how long will be 1000 diff answers based on 1000 diff companies. Knowing who you're tginking of going with helps get an answer.

True, but many have changed since the new 160 hour classes started and have not updated their web sites. So many are in driver training now and know what is happening today.

In 2007 a fresh out of CDL school required 3 months of road time for most of the companies. In 2008 companies were requiring 6 months total. 3 months with a trainer, then an additional 3 months with a person whom had just finished the 6 months and was willing to run a team. Indentured servitude was alive and well at the time.

When I worked at Western Express. Because CR England was willing to keep me on and didnt terminate my employment, they gave me 5 months with them. The trainer realizing that I could claim 5 months, allowed me to get in a truck after only 70 hours. Tho personally not having done much in the way of driving lately. I would be very happy with at least a month or two with some one turning miles before I turned solo miles again. The problem being that roads have changed since I last drove coast to coast. I would want to relearn them.

So dont worry about how long it takes. Enjoy the moment. IF the trainer and you dont get along, call your DM and ask for a different trainer. The company wont mind.
