Yes I would if I could but logistically it hasn’t worked out or made sense. I’m in north east Indy.

You need to keep water, soap, towels, bucket/hard hat handy. A truck stop is not the only way to wash your butt. Pour the water in your container, soap up your wash rag, and handle your business. OK, so it gets wet in the truck. It'll dry. Sometimes you gotta think unconventionally in an unconventional line of work.

@Chinatown can likely hook you up with a decent gig.

I shower everyday, but if I can't shower on one particular day I make a point of doing it the next. If I shower Monday morning and I don't get to shower Tuesday morning then I'll be smelling myself by Tuesday evening. And I figure if I can smell myself then other people definitely can.

I shower every day. Even hauling cattle running 6-7k a week if my choice was a shower and no nap or no shower and a nap I chose a shower.

Why are you living in a truck doing a local account?

Edit: my record is 5 days without a shower while riding bike and camping in the desert in New Mexico. But when I’m not a dirtbag cycletourer I shower daily.

With medium effort I could shower every day at a truck stop. With little effort I could shower every other day. I had free showers at Loves. When I was HazMat tanker I usually could shower every day without much problem and carried a simple "emergency shower" setup because of having to wear rubber rain gear if I unloaded. IMO, anyone going more than 1 day without a shower is looking for any excuse not to shower. No excuse not to brush your teeth daily.

I think my first trip when I got hired as a newbie the trainer didn't want to stop except to fuel or pick up grab & go food while we fueled. I didn't know any better than to think I needed his permission to have time to shower and that my only option was waiting until evening dinner time like 90% of drivers to get a shower at a truck stop. I went 5 days without a shower. Once we got back to the yard, I told him I was taking a shower at the company's driver lounge and if he was in too big a hurry and had to leave, it was nice knowing him. He was a great trainer, a real old-timer, nice guy. My first delivery with him was to an underground industrial park near KC, MO called Sub-Tropolis. I think they said it was a converted underground ammo dump about WWI vintage. There are several of those around Missouri.

Get a coffee maker and a big bowl, bar of soap, and some towels... never go without atleast a hot bird bath in the truck... make hot water pour it in bowl, wipe off. Soap, wipe off.
I can't stand being dirty and I ain't going to lay in my bed dirty and sweaty covered in tarp grime if there ain't a shower available... much better than baby wipes... I will even wipe down with cold water after a tarp job and I have certain clothes I wear while tarping and then change into clean ones after.

Expecting this type of running in a day cab is straight up cruel.
