I’m logging about 45-50 hours a week (Monday thru Friday). This is our busy season so I work half day on Saturdays occasionally. I’m home by Noon if I choose to work on Saturday and since I’d sleep until around 9:00 anyway, it really doesn’t have any bearing on my Saturday. Lol

This is an interesting topic to me because you often see these OTR trailers with messages on the back that say “We’ve got the miles”, but you rarely see “You’ll burn your 70 here” messages.

    Usually i do 60-65.
I turn pa to ga twice a week, it's almost exactly 30hrs each trip.
Normally i end up with 10 hrs left at the end of the week.

48-55hrs (5 day week), busy season tanking drinking water to the processing / bottling plants silos.

Not OTR. Never again. (But all the respect due to you guys that can tolerate it.)

My respects go to local drivers or dedicated that deal with the same boring #### everyday. And extra respects to those in high traffic madness on daily basis and try to park at same time everyday.

I also find those slogans a bit strange trying to entice people with longer work hours. How about more pay per hour or more cents per mile so there is less pressure to work those long hours?

I can absolutely burn a 70 logbook in a few days. No problem. I do however conserve where possible. But I'll just burn it for the week with miles and call it good. It don't bother me provided I carefully trip plan the last few hours left to my advantage to sit in a nicer stop.

Ive had situations where we burn a team worth of logs in two trips to and from LA in 6 days and change. Boom out of hours for midnight the 7th or 8th day. It's a chance to catch up and make ready for the next round trip.

Paper logs, E logs, it's about the same. Around 60-65. Shorter days can come back to haunt you if you have to run on recap.

Yeah, I agree. I used to like running 9-10 hours a day average (total on duty time for the day) when I ran OTR. That way I didn’t have to worry about running out of hours.

Now that I’m local, that’s never an issue.
