I run from Idaho to the mid west and back every week... So yeah I burn my 70 down to less than 2 hours remaining almost every week.
-
I log exactly how many I work. But then I don't fall for the cmp crap. I get paid for all my time working, so there is no incentive to make up extra time.

I work for a small family owned company & while we ship to & receive from all over the lower 48, I am the only company driver so I can run shorter loads that the carriers dont want or cant afford to take. My range is regional, in 4 states & about 300 - 350 miles each way. Occasionally, I'll get a load further when an outside carrier drops the ball but thats maybe 1 or 2 times a year.
We actually have some local accounts that I work one or two days a week. So, I dont get a lot of miles like you OTR drivers. I'd say on average, I'll work 35 - 40 hrs a week. I have seen times where I'd only work 25 or so hrs when its slow. I've also worked 60 hrs a week. But I'd say average, about 35 - 40.
FYI, I get a day rate so whether its a 4 hr day or a 14 hr day its still a full days pay & well above average for my area. I am blessed to have the little tater job I have .... especially at my age. And I get a new truck every 5 years with only about 350,000 miles on it when I am done with it.
I work 5 days a week & Friday is normally 1/2 day. Dry van & no touch freight.CorsairFanboy Thanks this. -
Like I said in my op, however, our day is usually about 10 hours max so I average around 50 hours a week.
We have a couple of guys that never log off duty other than their 30 minute break. They don’t want to get asked to work on Saturday so they intentionally try to use their 70 in 5 days.
I don’t know, I’ve only been asked to work on Saturday a few times and it’s never more than a half day at most. My attitude is it pays good and I wouldn’t likely be doing anything that early on a Saturday anyway so why not?bryan21384 Thanks this. -
40-43 hours per week currently Monday night thru Friday night.

My last driving gig was a 5 night per week deal. Usually took me 7-9 hours per night to complete my run, so 40-45 hours per week. I was paid salary.
Now I work in the office. I work exactly 45 hours per week and not a second more, also paid salary. -
I had 27 hours left on my 70 when I logged off yesterday afternoon.
