You want to compare your regional/local gig to OTR? Why?

If you were OTR would you want to log 50hrs a week when you aren't going to be home? Might as well go for 80 hrs OTR. :D

Frank Speak and bryan21384 Thank this.

I don’t have a problem with that logic if you’re an owner op (not fleece purchase, but YOU own the truck). Then, you can see the fruits of your labor, and if that’s what you want to do, then power to you.

But, most of these mega outfits that I’m referring to that have those “We’ve got the miles” messages on their trailers brainwash your logic into their drivers making them think that the only way to get ahead is to run themselves ragged every week. That’s how they get drivers to sign up for crap wages. They’re so busy running ragged they don’t realize their decent *looking* paycheck only decent because they’re running 70 hours a week.

I know of some OTR outfits where it’s possible to make a good living without running ragged every week.

But, frankly, I wasn’t trying to compare what I do like it’s some competition. I’m just genuinely curious about what drivers log on average.

Don’t ever try to think too much into my posts. I’m never that serious. Lol

Yeah, different strokes, I would rather run for 5 years and then take two years off. 7 days a week , 5 on 2 off, just skewed a bit.

    Frank Speak Thanks this.
