If you leave after 10 hour break and you have full tanks " average size " how many miles / hours can you drive ?
How low will you let your tanks get ?
Just an estimate , just curious as to how often a solo driver stops on average ?

    Many variables:
weight, driving against the wind or not, terrain, size of fuel tanks, etc.
Most drivers stop for fuel when the tanks get near 1/4 tank. If I'm going to do a layover or go to some shipper/receiver that has a reputation for taking a long time, I'll top them off if it's below 1/2 tank. That's just my own policy.

I would always take on fuel once a day if I needed to or not. Usually right before midnight.

Easily 16 hours / 1000 miles or a full day (+.5) worth of driving. Fuel is everywhere and with the required breaks, it really is not a problem. Your mpg will depend on wind, weight, terrain, gearing, power, driver finesse, speed, mechanical fitness of equipment. Most highway trucks have at least 200 gallon capacity, the average is probably more like 240-280. Some higher some lower. My truck now holds 90 on the left side and 135 on the right. I do have to stop a bit more often for fuel, but it really doesn't make much difference. I do not let it get much below 1/4 because after that the needle drops fast. Just gotta know your truck, really.

It depen on weight, speed and the capacity of your fuel tank, my truck has 300 tanks and the longest i drove with one tank was 1830 miles. All the loads were under 10000 and i was driving 65 miles. But average is around 1300 miles before refuel

I have a total of 160 gallon tanks. So let's say I average 6mpg, that's 960 miles I can go. Obviously I'm not going to run my tanks dry, I usually fill up once I hit half a tank.

Let's say I average 60mph with traffic and hills, thats 16 hours nonstop I can drive until I ran out

Around 700 miles on twin 120 gal tanks, refill near a quarter. Hauling super b-trains.
Last truck doing van work in the USA would do 1,550 miles on twin 140 gal tanks with a Mercedes engine.

I do too. I start my day by topping off the tanks. It's a massive waste of time to fuel during your work day.

I hear ya. I like to truck all night (especially in the summer heat). Start after lunch and work until just before the sun comes up (so I can hopefully still maybe fall asleep possibly). Running these 2-lane backroads, there's not a lot of all-night fuel stops. I can slide my card at night, but a lot of places limit you to $75 or $100. So I usually try to fuel in the middle of my "day", just before these places shut down.

By the way, 300 gallon capacity on my W9, but I have a LOT of PTO time, so I can't really help with miles per tank. They are all different for me.
