Losing, since the policy is to only pay 500 miles if the breakdown lasts 24 hours. They always “fix” the issues and send me on my way after just a few hours.

They actually put me in a new truck finally, and this new truck has one of the same problems.

once........and I HAVE QUIT a job or 2 that things would not get fixed.

when things do not get fixed, tells me that company is dirt poor, or the owner(s) are skimming the books, to buy that new caddy SUV.

From his posts, it seems like there's a loose nut behind the wheel.

Drove a junk International Prostar with Maxxfarce that my boss rented first year it came out. Suffered for almost 6 months. Useless Engine brake, no power, truck would stall trying to take off with a 20000 pound load in second gear.
Truck was scared of climbing hills and mountains and was so underpowered. Problems constantly with air leaks and esp Regen system. Under 100000 miles.

Got to the point where I was doing two or three parked regens per day, and sometimes on ramps or the side of the road. Truck had been to shop 6 times in less than 3 months for Regen issues.

Told boss he had 3 weeks to find me a different non Prostar truck or Im done. At that point I would have taken just about anything that ran and went down the road without trying to kill me, strand me, or endanger the lives of others motorists.

After 3 weeks were up he thought I was bluffing. Asked him what he had for a different truck. He chuckled. I chuckled. I pulled all my things out if my truck and tossed the key on his desk at 3pm on a afternoon. I just said, well you can have that truck, call me when you find something else to drive.

Monday afternoon I was in a 387 Pete, ugly stripped down and not flashy, but at least it ran decent and made me and the company money.

They stuck one of their local drivers in the Junkstar Maxxfarce, or tried to, the thing didn't even make it outta the drop lot and had to be towed back to the dealer. Luckily we never saw that heap again

Been there with 2 different employers. One of them I was real close to pulling the oil drain plug and seeing how how far it'd go before seizing up.

and yet, those very same companies say things like, "we treat you like family", or best pay, best benefits in the industry", or "we promise to get you home for those important things in life", or "go ahead and call the Marshal's, we got proof we do things right"....

    lol

i had strangers treat me better than family.

i have had great pay and great benefits, never had seen any "best"

i always got home, i knew how to call an airline

i never called the Marshal's......but i did call an 1-900 number a time or two......

I got up and walked out after that spiel "We are your family" in a packed orientation once. Temper got the best of me and I shouted BS.

You think Heaven was silent 30 minutes then half the place just laughed the staff out.

Needless to say it was not difficult to get my own way home. Better they cut me down that day than to have me get into everything to fix it. Starting with the truck.

My ATS tractor got hot constantly for 6 weeks. I pulled into St Cloud MN Main shop one night, 5 senior staff stood around that poor 94 kitty midroof debating what will be done. Everything had been done up to that point.

I had a memory of my old ford like a lightning bolt turned back to the staff, explained the car and solution.

Pull radiator cap and pressure test the #### thing. It should hold 15 pounds.

    It failed at 2.

Yes, I was just given the family line today, and not 2 seconds later they said, “hold on a minute” and put me on hold for a few minutes. Not to mention they say “here you’re not just a number.” But the first thing they ask for when you call is always your truck number and not your name.

    “I never called the Marshal's“

?? Could you explain that to my ignorant self? Are you talking about the actual US Marshalls? Why would you call them? For what?
