If you dont want to pay for a crane on both ends, better hope and pray that you have easy land to get in and out of or simply dont need one.
Im guessing you were a dry van schmuck when a driver cause this would be common knowledge if you did 4 days as flatbed

Sounds as though you’re thinking more like $2.25 a mile plus permits / escorts….? Wish you the best of luck.

I was waiting for the sticker shock post lol. Even at 20k it's s substantial amount of money. OP is getting a dose of reality here. The crane really bumps it up.
Very little competition in the rigging world and their equipment needs are very pricey these factors contribute heavily to rates. I wonder if OP has ever looked into how much a crane costs? -
What’s this thing weigh ?
was it manufactured and designed to be lifted and transported on a trailer ?
Does it have runners or joists built under it to support itself on a 8 foot wide trailer ?
I’d start by calling some companies that make and sell modular / manufactured/ mobile homes and ask who transports them and discuss
it’s gonna vary by region and location but the truck is gonna be a minimum of $10 a loaded mile , plus pilot cars and permits etc , maybe more , and the crane is a minimum of $5k on each end , maybe more .
But maybe you can just crib it up and back under it .
might can find someone with a stretchable RGN that can get it low enoigh so it’s not overheightcke and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
Hauled this mining shield for my cousin who owns a company that caters to the mining industry, it weighed 64,000. I sent him a message to see what the rate was to unload and reload the next week at his shop. Just getting a general idea, I delivered it in Pittsburgh to a mining expedition for him….

So $3500 at his shop setting outside, their shop was only 3 miles away and took 1.5 hours to transport and make a lift. Then $10,000 inside the building up in Pittsburgh….
