My dogs is the biggest reason I went with Western Express.

3 days orientation then 2 weeks training. Within 3 weeks I was in my own truck on my way to pick up my dogs.

    No pet deposit.

Everything else about Western Express stinks.

Why would you choose a job that keeps you away from home when you have two mouths to feed?

If you’re bound and determined to have two dogs, you either need to go local or find a different occupation than OTR truck driving. As far as having a team driver with you, I personally would never consider teaming with a guy with two dogs, but then to be fair I wouldn’t team with anyone.

I beg to differ. I see a lot of OTR drivers with multiple pets.

Well, honestly I love the nice replies. Pups been with me for 3 years of their entire life now :) I’m just gonna rotate them in and out of baording I guess. 3 months and I get my experience ONTO A BETTER COMPANY. I appreciate it S much for the ones who have said Good companies ❤️‍ It’s just swifts training is the only beginning company and the only one hiring near me, including HAS ONE entire month like you got no life is the toll. I don’t think I said that correctly lol. It’s not wrong to regional and have a rotation or anything. They grew up together, I can’t let them go. And what 2 weeks max i guess.. only 500 bucks split with partner ? Plus, trucking is for saving for now, I aspire to go bigger in my career someday I hope☮️

I’d have burnt my truck to the ground to have another year with my little friend. I get it.

But this is trucking - and it’s a cruel thankless job with sacrifices.

    I have no good advice.

You could probably find a temporary "foster family" by running a Facebook marketplace ad.

You could look into long term boarding, which differs from the normal type. Usually for folks who need boarding for 2 weeks or more. A google search will provide you will some companies I'm sure.

The suggestion to ask your vet/local vets is a good one, they would probably be able to suggest someone trustworthy for watching your pups. Which to me is the lesser of two evils. Trust another to watch them, or possibly give them up. I'd opt for another watching them. You could also ask local shelters/rescues, or the SPCA for some suggestions. If nothing else they may know someone who could foster it till you're in your own truck.

As @blairandgretchen said though, it's trucking, and you will have to sacrifice or find another gig. Plenty of work out there available to folks outside of trucking. Doesn't mean you have to give up trucking forever. You can always come back to it once you have your own truck and find a company that will allow the pups, or you have the means/social network to watch them for you.

As a owner of 2 dogs, I feel the pain in deciding, but...decide you must if you wish to drive for a living.

    Good luck!
