Yep some of them seem to make their own laws as they go along. No different than anything else, a few ruin it for the many.

I guess I was mistaken about the valve cap for steer axle tyres.

If you have money to blow you can invest in some crossfires...

If super singles were so #### ugly I would be all for them. The weight savings would be nice, but how they look and the fact if you do have a blow out your stuck no limping a few miles to the tire shop.

I've been driving on super singles for about 3 years and I've only had one blow out. And that was in El Paso. Say that's pretty good odds. :)

My boss doesn't put super singles on for looks or the lack thereof. Our shippers and receivers couldn't care less how our trucks and trailers look as long as we haul the weight they want hauled. I pull a dry van and I can scale 49,000 and be right at 80,000. As a general rule, I don't even bother getting an axle weight scale ticket unless there is at least 47,000 in the box.

Kinda like having a blow out on a steer tire, yet we have been using singles on the steer axles since at least 1992 and quite possibly longer than that, but I've only been doing it since 1992.

Some of them have the closest lane with a system that checks/ fills all your tyres. When you buy fuel you get credits otherwise you pay and there is a service tech that runs the machines. It is not self serve.

I just put my gloves on and give the sidewalls a nice punch and can tell if they're good but ideally the pressure equalizers with a nice little visual indicator would be the best.
