Hello all you experienced O/O’s! I am hauling a load for a broker that I have never worked with before, and they pay via ComCheck. I can’t seem to find any specific or recent threads on how to get this money into my bank account. After reading through some of the posts about ComChecks, I am even more confused. I have never used a ComCheck and have no experience with them. So I am basically trying to figure out how to get that payment from the broker into my bank account. As I understand, I will need a blank ComCheck. I called a Flying J on my route and they told me that they can give me a blank one. Can anyone tell me what I need to do from there in order to get the money into my bank? Thanks in advance!
The bank will call a number on the check, and enter the Comcheck code to verify it's real. Then they just put it in your account like normal. If the person doesn't know what it is, the manager will. That's what happened at my bank. Teller was confused as hell.
Verifying means calling the number on the check and getting “the code”? Sorry I am so clueless with these darn things
Can get an account with Comdata and get the card and app, then you can transfer the funds yourself, Costs were $1.00 per transfer, so $2.00 it’s over 1 to load money, 1 to put it in your bank.
As you should. Dont leave customer with out confirmation code. I dont unchain till I have one. Creditor give you express code, you verify security code. Com check is like gold. Now I have found a few young tellers who had zero idea. But normally a older bank employee understood them. If it confirms, the issuer can not reverse a Com Check. Its as good as cash in your hand. I do hear about Comcard scames. Not much to add to that.
My bank, USAA, has an app that let's me take a picture of the check and deposit it directly. Since I usually can't physically get to the bank, it simplifies things alot. I don't know about Comcheks, because I've never tried it with one. But, if your bank has a similar way to deposit a check over a phone app, perhaps you could call the bank and se if you can deposit a Comchek that way. Also, with USAA, if I deposit it through the app, those funds have always been available to me immediately without having to wait for some processing stuff.
