Up until the beginning of this year, I hand unloaded 45000 lbs, every day, one case at a time. The only reason I stopped was to move into something that pays better.

That was what weekend school was for. Took a number of months. In the weeks I worked mornings part time. The money covered what little that was needed. Food and housing was already in place. There was some expenses in going up against big wheel wrecking potholes in Baltimore in those days. But not too bad.

Go to Wally World or some other big box grocery store.
Peanut butter and bread.
A big bag of whatever fruit is in season.
A couple cases of Ramen Noodles.
You do NOT need a microwave for Ramen Noodles. Buy a big coffee mug. Break up the noodles in the pack and pour in cup. Go into truck stop and get hot water from the coffee machine. Let the noodles soak for a couple minutes and they soften up. It works in cold water too, but the flavor packs dont mix well in cold water.Xeno124 Thanks this. -

How i did it, i was in a better situation than most. I went thru driving school while i was 20yrs old. I planned it out perfectly to graduate the week after i turned 21.
I took out student loans for school. To those who don’t think they can afford it. My payments were under $200 a month. You can afford it, if you can qualify for the loans.
My only bills were car insurance and a cell phone. That made it so feasible for me.
As adults that are already adulting, well it would be tuff to have to start over at this point of my life. I hope i never have to.
It sounds so easy to say oh i’ll just go to trade school and things will get better. We all know it doesn’t just happen like that. Not often anyway. For people with family’s and established bills, i do not envy you. Trying to break into trucking when you need to make $60,000+ a year is not an easy thing to do. Sure $35-40,000 is pretty doable, but like other have said...that first 3 months is gonna squeeze your nads tight so tight, you’d be waiting for them to fall off.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
