People have been fired for posting on social media. Usually what happens is they call in sick then later the boss sees that the employee has posted selfies of themselves having a blast down at some amusement park or something.
Some truckers are hardcore Vloggers, posting video content of their daily work activities. One guy at Swift wasn't too swift with his video editing, posted up content of himself running red lights and holding his phone while driving, stupid stuff like that.
Swift terminal in California had a bunch of wildcats running around. Well at least one of them was tame enough to let me pet it., probably an abandoned kitty from the foreclosure crisis. Anyway, in the office parking lot someone was leaving food and water out there by their car under the tree for all the wild cats. Some months later a mama kitty was critically injured by a falling pallet so had to be put down. The terminal manager sent out a blast message over the qualcomm threatening to fire any driver who feeds the cats. iI thought that was odd to blame the drivers when the person feeding them works right in her office.
How to get fired in trucking?

Fishing in the company pond......big no no with all the potential damage of sexual harassment. Don't fall for your co-workers unless one you is prepared to bite the bullet for a grunt and hump.

Get several call-ins from motorists inside of a few months (for aggressive driving, tail-gating, etc) should do it. Dangerous drivers are easy to identify with consistent complaints from those who have to go out of their way to make such a report. These drivers are a serious crash waiting to happen, as well as make the company and industry look bad in general, and no respectable carrier wants these drivers in their organization.
Get several complaints directly from shippers about being irate or generally having very poor appearance or offensive odors should do it. (at least if you're working for a reputable company who does not do 100% broker freight, but rather hauls directly for hard-earned shippers)Lepton1 Thanks this. -
