I’ve got a lot of long lifers in my family, my grandparents are 94 & 91, they live on their own and are in good health. My great uncle died just short of 110. Living on his own and still going hunting until the ripe age of 106.

My father however is 68, and not in the best shape. I feel like that is mainly because he has worked himself into the ground. He recently retired from the coal mines, and it cost him a lot physically. He has bad knees and hips, he has cataracts and macular degeneration, and black lung and a mass to go with it.

So long story short, he isn’t fully able to enjoy the retirement he worked so hard for. He can barely see, barely breathe and barely walk. I’m just starting now to plan ahead and think about those things.

I had a cataract in 2009, that was a important year of decision for me. The surgery restored the eyesight and saved my life. I was methodically working out angles to the C1 and brainstem area at one point.

Going back two generations, one grand parent had them so bad. Medical technology were not near what they are today. There is another cure but somewhat barbaric. Essentially "Chop" and the resulting appearances will scar any children for life.

They need to get that mass out before it spread. A friend of mine essentially drowned two years ago Jan. What he had was small cell lung cancer. Filled him right up. Hospice jabbed him with the really good stuff and he died like a man in two days flat. To wit he was about a 20 year CDL A with the rest of us.

Its either leukemia, strokes or sheer stubbornness that will kill us into our old age. Worst case scenario we would just outlive everyone.

That’s good you got them taken care of. He can’t have any type of surgery for his, because in his one eye, the hole in the macula is too bad, and he is afraid to have it in the other eye because that’s the only eye he can still see out of a little bit.

I might try to sleep a little more. I meant to take an hour nap after I got off work around 7 last night and I accidentally had my alarm set to 8AM instead of pm. I woke up around 2 this morning. I can’t just start earlier either cause the mill won’t have the first one loaded until around 9.

Oh well, those are the kinds of problems I like to have, that tells me nothing serious is going on and I don’t have anything to worry about.

    Calories consumed = Calories burned

Keep both sides of the equation equal.

Install F.Lux Software. What this does is understand what is your sunrise and sunset then remove blue lighting on your computer screen leaning towards softer lighting so you don't burn your eyes out in a endless quest for sleep after using technology at all hours of the day.

Not uncommon- Many "Driovers" Come in fit and healthy and leave a Fatso.

You at least have some physicalities to Burn .....But may not be enough-

Im 50- And Im in better shape these days than I was in my 30's- I pull a Flatbed and Tarp 90% of everything I Haul- but it doesn't stop there- I Do all my own maintenance including Tires.....

You won't Find many Fatso's Doing Tires- That right there Will Make you a Glen Danzig Looking individual.

I Love the Hard Work- Keeps me feeling and looking Young and Less Crabby.

Did you know, a sandwich with two slices of bread has more calories than a Mars bar?
Plus what ever it is you put on it.
