Friend of mine got loaded at 0200 AM Thursday morning going into a 4 day weekend. Loading crew works at night and this truck was the last one of the night. Driver's 10 hour break was up at 0500 AM but to hold the crew there 3 hours would be just rude not to mention they might do the rude thing and just go home. So the driver had to go into violation to scale the load to make sure it was legal, if not the crew would fix it. If he waits til 0500 AM the crew might not be there to fix it and the driver would have to wait from Thursday - Tuesday on an 1800 mile run. Load was good anyway, so happy holidays to everyone and the driver gets his slow easy run in 5 days, no chance for fatigued driving.

This is where Elogs are going to fail hard.

Moosetek, I did the same thing while taking a 30. Moved a little at 29 minutes in, and didn't wait 5 minutes. Got on the highway and its flashing at me that I only had 15min of time left. I was like fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!
So I had to do another 30 on an off ramp. I knew about the change, just completely forgot.

I'm really glad I don't have to put up with crap you guys have to with elogs, let alone not being able to bobtail somewhere when on a break.
and like others have said, why take a restart in a flippen Costco to begin with. Do your 10 hours break and go back to work you lazy bum. lol

There was a time when one could put a bucket or foil over the antenna and drive wherever they wanted. Pretty sure they have made it so that doesn't work any longer though.

You could try it. If you get caught, wear the bucket on your head when you go to your safety hearing.
