I used to be a hot head and I'm lucky I never hurt anyone and never got in trouble with it. I've cooled down in age and I've been trying to get my 24 yr. old son to realize the huge responsibility we have when running these trucks, especially since it's my company on the line not his yet. I just take deep breaths and another drink of coffee.
UturnGirl, Bean Jr., 86scotty and 1 other person Thank this. -
I used to get angry also a lot, I’ve learned to just back out of it and let people go, I’ve even found myself getting off a exit ramp get out stretch, take a leak and then get back on to get out of a stupid situation. Few months ago I lost my cool coming north out of Winston Salem on US 52. Of course the occupants of the vehicle were videoing me and telling me they will get me. Haven’t found it on you tube yet.....
That was the first time in a while I blew a gasket like that behind the wheel and I plan it be my last. It’s tough don’t feel bad.Brettj3876, Midwest Trucker and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

I just curse them under my breath. When my toddler daughter said to me one day from her car seat, ”daddy, that man was an f*&#ing a@@hole,” I was like “aw!” It was so special.

In my younger years my temper cost me alot of money. Working on a project gone wrong,, things flew..
It landed me in court once. I was fortunate the case was dismissed.
2-3 decades ago one could bich slap, etc someone needing it. Lands one in jail nowadays.
Apparently I'm getting old, fat and lazy. I don't fly off anywhere near the way I used too. Sometimes I get pizzed at myself because I don't fly off now, when I should..Rctruck87, Brettj3876, UturnGirl and 2 others Thank this. -
Even though I'm only 26 I stay pretty calm, until earlier today. I came across I70 out of Baltimore and the hundreds of idiot drivers had me fuming. I stopped at the Pilot off exit 24 in Hagerstown and the guy I was parked behind at the fuel pump finished fueling and didn't pull up out of the way. I was already in a hurry and I had to put up with this garbage. When he came back out holding bags of chips, bottles of pop and his fuel receipt I lost it. I jumped out of my truck and started unleashing all of the gripes that have been piling up for the past few weeks about inconsiderate drivers, as loud as I could along with a few select cuss words. An argument ensued for a few minutes and he got in his truck and hauled grass out of the parking lot. When I got back in my truck I felt like a real douchebag, I should've just let it go. We all have out limits and our moments

The other thing that works is sit there and curse them, their ancestors, and all their pets for a while, that one's always enjoyable.Rctruck87, blairandgretchen, UturnGirl and 3 others Thank this. -
Never let someone else drive your truck or car. With what we do, its every day.
I get annoyed sometimes, but that's about it.
The world, particularly the trucking world, is full of inconsiderate ***holes. Just figure its going to happen.TheLoadOut, homeskillet, UturnGirl and 6 others Thank this.
