I sometimes watch people parking who are clearly good at backing, and choose difficult spots when they don't need to, but I still cannot understand why anyone would risk damage when it isn't necessary. I always choose the easiest spot (though I rarely nose-in because that means I have to back out after the tard-parked have crapped up the lot.) I also use more space than I need when turning, unless there is a clear reason to squeeze a corner.

I am good enough to back into almost anything if I get out and look a couple times, and I can judge my forward movements pretty #### well, but why risk it?

I see this way too often at the Loves in Alatoona, GA. One of the worst newer Loves for both parking and fuel traffic flow.

At the TA in Williston ND. There is a spot by the front door. Can fit four trucks, side by side. Many stop there just to get something inside. Then move on.
One of the other haulers doing what I do. He pulled in there late at night. No big deal. There are always spots to park in. This guy parked in that "stop to get something quick" spots. I pulled up there after him. Gee... There was a parking spot right next to the "Reserved" parking. Up real close. I figured I wouldn't even stop in the quick spot. I'd just park. Then go inside.
Can you believe this guy was still sitting there the next morning?

Also, I'm shocked at how many truckers throw their trash on the ground even when there's an empty trash can nearby. I was just parked at the back of a Texas Rest Area coming in from NM. I picked up 2 bags of trash during my walk from the back of the lot to the restrooms. Trash cans were placed in the parking lot as well as near the rest area.
