Just looking through the truck paper magazine, and I'm running into some terminology I'm not familiar with:
"12K# FA, 40K# RA"
I'm guessing by the pound sign that this is something having to do with the weight of the vehicle? What do "FA" and "RA" mean?
How to read Truck Paper ads

18913A and 16913A that normally follow letters like RTO or RTLO or something like that is what I look for. You do want 40#RA, but you want to learn everything you can about engines, engine serial numbers, transmission model numbers and suspension packages.
As far as the engines go, you normally see the make (Detroit or Cummins..etc) and the HP rating. I have a Cat engine. You will see 475 Cat, but the engine serial number can be a 6NZ, 1LW, 2WS, and the model numbers can be 3406 B,C,E,C15, ACERT...etc.
Learn everything you can. Dont just buy. Certain trucks were problematic. Certain engines were problematic. You can save yourself alot of money.
Luck in battle.LoneCowboy, Cottonmouth85, csmith1281 and 2 others Thank this. -

Ok, so that's talking about the maximum weight capacity for the axles?
