How to tactfully back out of an orientation?

If i had a nickel for every time a Pipedreamer comes on here wanting to be an O/O id be rich.

 

It is a common thing for people to back out of orientation. Happens every single orientation. If you didn't show up for orientation, you were never hired. So, it's not going on your record for backing out, and you don't ever list them as employers.

So, what's the big deal? Even if you don't call them, they're not going to hold it against you. But out of courtesy, I would call them and tell them that I got a better offer.

 

If you call $10,575.05 rich, then you’d be right.

Im working on reducing that figure.

 

They will forget about you 5 minutes after you walk out the door/ put the phone down.

 

That's the honest truth. I really want to know if you guys jumping on Chinatown really go on a first date with a woman and just lay it all out there... You know in the spirit of being upfront and honest. You tell her of all your faults, weaknesses, one night stands, that you fart in your sleep and that your feet stink.

 

Dress for success. Tell them you have an appointment in an hour and you don't want to be late. I'm pretty sure they will let you leave early.
