So what does that bring your P&D and Linehaul rates up to?

    Lumper Humper Thanks this.

My yard would've been 39.70 P&D/Combo. Line ~.90doubles, ~.93 triples. Top rate of course.

Not sure what dock workers made. Think it was around 27/hr top rate.

Albertaflatbed and Lumper Humper Thank this.

That’s really good if you’re not in a high cost of living area.

surprised a publicly traded company could pay so well, and not try to short change their folks

1br apartments are 1500-1800/mo. Starter homes 400k and up.

It's good money but you aren't getting rich. Assuming you had a working spouse and could keep from getting divorced you could be middle class.

Sure as hell beats the .50cpm OTR guys are making. Or the .60cpm local companies are paying.

High Stepper, plynnjr92 and Rugerfan Thank this.

My OD terminal in Southern California now tops out at $38.95 P&D, 88.28cpm linehaul and 95.79cpm team linehaul.

Our insurance premiums increased by less than $18/mo, the first increase in 4-5 years, but the raise is more than we got last year. Pretty generous especially considering we're non-union and the freight market isn't ideal. We also got more vacay time. When I hit year 5 in October, I'll get 15 vacay days plus 5 sick days for a total of 20, basically 4 weeks of vacation.

    Rugerfan Thanks this.

Don’t think I got the terminal manager position, phew.

how they expect people to move up if they don’t wanna pay management more than the worker bees?

I rather just listen to Joe Rogan on my headset for $1500 a week than have to manage people for $1400-1600 in an office.

maybe my opinion will change as I get older

Trust me, trust me, trust me........you don't want the job. Some of the most miserable years of my life were being terminal manager (XPO and FedEx Freight). And it doesn't help when you know the monkeys 'working' for you are making a whole lot more money.
Be glad you dodged a bullet.

It isn’t like you can have productivity standards either, because once all the protected classes decide they’re not going to do diddly squat and that they’re entitled to a day’s pay just for showing up, attempting to enforce the aforementioned standards will create an HR issue due to the potential for the appearance of political incorrectness, and God knows we certainly wouldn’t want that.

Oh, did I just offend somebody? Well tough ####. I’m not in a good mood right now.
