I'm back on nights after 2+ years of working days. I absolutely hate it. Way too many shenanigans at night and some days they refuse to close the trailers until the very last minute.

All in all, I don't take it for granted. Could be worse so I'm still thankful to be consistently working. Should clear about 115K AFTER 401K contributions!

####, going back to nights after 2 years on days would be brutal. However, it sounds like you have a good attitude about it so that helps. My center only has nights, I know I won’t be here for the long term whether that means transferring or switching jobs altogether. Fxf is pretty slow but as top guy on extra board I’m still doing ok. I might go just over 100k gross by year’s end, we’ll see.

    Wait… What??

You mean the person who DOES pay their bills is now the “deadbeat”? o_O

    When did this change happen?

CC companies don't make boatloads of money unless your balance is generating interest. A balance paid in full before the statement cuts never had a chance to earn them a dime. The better play to be 'attractive' to lenders is to let the statement cut, and then pay the balance in full. This assumes that the statement will cut with less than 30% utilization.

Sure, your credit report will show the high balance and payment amount, but those measurements are typically not going to be part of underwriting for revolving lines of credit.

They must love me then. :biggrin_25523:

Whenever I have to use the card I immediately run right to the bank, fill out a savings withdrawal slip, and put it right on the card. That interval could be less than an hour.

That's the correct way to use them like that. Problem is when you carry over a balance. I've had it where I was paying $200+ a month in interest alone. Money that was spent that I had nothing to show for. I am glad I got that paid off as fast as I did. I don't know how many people have checked on Amazon or elsewhere lately, but you can now pay for crap in installments instead of using a CC. It's got so bad that you can purchase a burrito for a $3 monthly installment over 4 months.

It's also getting to the point where a $3 burrito in installments is a mode of survival, which is even scarier.

Unrelated: I went to San Diego for a week at the beginning of the month for work. I haven't been to SD in maybe 20 years or so, but wow the homeless problem is unreal. I'm really surprised they let the homeless get that close to the convention center.
