I have hazmat endorsement. Do I show them my driver's license at the ticket counter and receive something to show TSA that I have had a TSA background check?

I was told the same thing about TSA Preclearence. When you check in for a flight, the airline is supposed to put something on your boarding pass.

The lady told me at the frequency flyer portion of check in whatever you put your state letters then driver's license number. She also said you can contact the airline after booking a ticket to inform them and they'll do it.Moon_beam Thanks this.

You have to enter your state abbreviation and DL# on the KTN (known traveler number) on your reservation. It’s easiest to do this through the app of whatever airline you’re traveling with, or when you make the reservation on travel apps like Priceline or Expedia.
You can do it at the check-in counter too, but it’s a pain in the ###. -
You explained it better than I ever could lol

You can also just make it part of your customer profile at any of those sites and it should work just fine. I coach club water polo, and our club always uses United, so when they purchase a flight for me, I just add it to my United profile and it’s there automatically.
The real problem is over the last year or so, in order to cover some of their COVID losses, all these airlines are offering “buy-ups” that include TSA Pre-check, so the lines are longer. God forbid you travel through O’Hare on a weekend. They #### down pre-check at like half the terminals. -
I don't see the options on the Southwest or Delta app to enter that info

How do I automatically add my KTN to a reservation... - The Southwest Airlines CommunityLast edited: Jan 13, 2024

It’s called the Known Traveler Number or KTN. You can enter it on your reservation during or after booking, or to your frequent flier account profile.
Here’s an example from the American Airlines app, updating the KTN on my profile as if I had hazmat on a Texas DL with license number 123456789:
If it works, you won’t know until you check in for your flight and you see a tiny TSA Precheck logo somewhere on your boarding pass. That’s what the TSA people look for at the airport to let you into that line.
