Yea it’s not good. Been on my mind ever since I heard about it. I know a couple of those guys from the IL closures from when I was a road driver. I think it’s 14 centers closed in the past 2 years.

As someone that abruptly lost their job last year when Yellow shuttered, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to anyone that is being affected by the current closures.
I understand it's just a small % of affected terminals to the people in corporate, but if you are on the ground floor at one of their facilities; it's your means of providing for yourself and your families. Many of you hold positions that can't be transferred or you are too rooted in your local community to be able to relocate.
Part of me thinks to count your blessings that you are at least getting a heads up, but the reality is much more darker if you are now having to look for new work. I recommend that you do not wait it out till the doors close. Have your resume ready and up to date. Also start applying at other companies right now, in person if you are able to. Friends and coworkers will soon be your competitors for finding a future paycheck so it's best to stay friendly but also ahead of them when it comes to planning.
I am also looking at potentially going back to LTL in the near future. Let me know if you need help with your resume, I know many of those affected were not anticipating having to find new work.
Best of luck to everyone.Speed_Drums, plynnjr92, celticdriver23 and 5 others Thank this. -
When founder Fred Smith ran the place, he took care of his people. Now, the CEO is some jackwagon who only cares about his paycheck and his resume.
This is where capitalism hits the iceberg.jmz, road_runner, Lumper Humper and 2 others Thank this. -
road_runner, celticdriver23 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.

I bet in a few years when the cuts and merges are finished, Raj will leave with a nice payout and John Smith will take over as CEO. -
We have all seen what happens to a good company when the old man turns it over to the kids....
Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
FXF doesn’t even have any job postings at all for drivers on their website. Crazy.
Lumper Humper, Cardfan89 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.
