Appreciate the advice. Candid is good, but you are also wrong. There are already solutions on the table before you came here. I will let you know as I get going. For now it does seem like I will need to work for someone Regionally and Dedicated for a year to collect experience and capital. From there I can Lease and have more control.
Either way - I for sure will update if I somehow make it work. Because you reasoning is probably not far off from reality. It's not an easy fit.

FedEx Ground has tons of sleeper team runs that leave out Sunday morning and you are back by Thursday afternoon. Contact a contracted service provider at the Dallas/Fort Worth terminal and they can determine if they can hire you right out of school. Best of luck.buzzarddriver, tscottme, brian991219 and 3 others Thank this.

Here is an thread from 10 years ago which seems to provide some useful information.. I skimmed through it a bit. Hope it helps.
Same situation that you’re trying to figure out.

Imo, you shouldn’t have any issues if you signed up with a large to mega carrier.
Simply put..
I would like to see one company tell you that they won’t hire you due to your religious beliefs. If one does then hire an attorney and cement your retirement.
Start by calling Swift, just ask if they can accommodate your religious requirements.
Good luck and don’t give up.brian991219, Tribunal and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
I’ve been wrong more times than I’ve ever been right.

That was my guess too. Don't be ashamed, I'm proud to be Jewish, especially in my later years.
Long story short, can't be done. Trucking, as mentioned by others, has very little regard for traditions. The business doesn't work that way. Many times, you'll load on a Friday, for Monday morning delivery, or vice versa. You simply can't have any restrictions when it comes to trucking. Even dedicated routes, meaning, you do the same thing every day/week, situations arise, and guess what? Weather, breakdowns, delays will be just a few of the obstacles. Also, have you thought about eating? If Kosher, good luck. The Flying J is hardly Kosher.
Besides, what's some nice Jewish folks like you doing in a truck? My old man thought that way, and I did trucking mostly to spite him. Not a lot of Jewish drivers, that admitted to it, but I showed my old man it could be done. Zay gesunt and Mazel Tov

Try Tyson foods if you already have or are willing to get your cdl on your own. They have a regional side. I get home friday and dont leave the house till Sunday. Every now and then but not often I am hung out till Saturday
