I agree that the tests given by DDS is not going to accurately reflect the real world of trucking but it is the standard that is used to get the permit.

Studying. Haven't taken the test yet. Getting discouraged. My Employer Sponsoring the CDL Classes expected me to be ready to pass the CLP/CDL for the learners permit within a week. I got started studying late due to well, something at home. sigh
Is it really realistic that an employer should be able to expect a cold learner to be ready for the CLP test within a week?
    What was I thinking?
I have background in extensive long distance OTR in a car. Not a truck. No farm/family experience.
I really want to do this. I love long distance OTR and my kids are all grown.

You don't have to know anything about trucking to pass the CDL Permit test. Just memorize the test.
People do this every day just to qualify for cdl school.

I did the same thing. I’d hate to say how many times I read the CDL manual. I studied it until I understood what they were saying, and had someone ask me the check questions provided in the manual. When I knew them cold I went down and took the test and aced it. The info in that manual is not just there for the heck of it, it is need to know stuff to make you a better driver. Make the decision you are going to learn the material and ace the test, and go do it.

I prefer practice tests on TruckerCountry.COM. From what I have seen they have every question for every endorsement. Since I already have my CDL I only have to study and renew my HazMat. Trucker Country is showing 10 different HM tests while most sites only have 7 different versions.

Still, if you are passing your practice tests at 90% you should be able to pass the real permit test. Without seeing the questions you are missing I don't what the problem may be.

    Try this.
Don’t read the question first, just skip it for a moment.
Go right to the answers for the question.
Read each answer. Now read the question, choose your answer and move on to the next.
