I-78 in PA AGAIN

Notice FedREX in front of the scene in the left lane.
Freddy blew everybody's doors off and lost control (as usual) thus causing a chain reaction pile up behind him.
I bet that's what happened.

 

I'm pretty sure just about all of already know that. I'm pretty sure fedex ground is 100% independent all the way around. Doesn't change the fact that they're all complete ####ing idiots behind the wheel

Yeah, they are. Those trucks may be pseudo-sheltered under the guise of an "independent" small fleet, but those trucks are reliant on Fedex freight and have to meet FedEx schedules, no matter the weather. Too many service failures and that small fleet loses its contract and the next lowest common denominator takes its place..

So FedEx is the one ultimately responsible for putting these unsafe ######## on the road.

Many sections of 78 only have a 5 foot shoulder and disabled vehicles sit partially in the right lane. I-78 is an ancient antiquated beast. It's dangerous even on a bright sunny day. Never minded running westbound away from Jersey but always hated running eastbound unless I was just going to Allentown.

 

I-78 from the New Jersey state line to the I-81 interchange east of Harrisburg has always been bad-even in the BEST WEATHER CONDITIONS(sunny,clear skies). Add the combination of bad driving skills and you'll have a recipe for an epic disaster.

 

windshield wipers become solid ice and dont get the snow and ice off the windshield anymore in snow driving. you have to guess where the road is . you cant pull over to clean off your windshield because you will create an accident and you dont know if there is a shoulder. since everything is covered in snow. just try to park in the fuel island for your 30 minute break to clean the ice off your windshield and wipers . i had wipers snap off the wiper arm and the wiper wouldnt go back on

 

One time there was a broke down truck in I78 at the bottom of a hill. The shoulder is the right lane on 78.
Thankfully someone on the CB said something or else I and others would have been in trouble.
