Used car salesman is right. Was talking to a broker last week about a 900 mile run, he offered $2300. Sounded good to me so we booked it. I went on the load board and saw 3 other loads picking up 55 to 75 miles away (same product) going to the same region my load was going for $3000. I started playing back the conversation we had on the phone and how he pumped the $2300 up to me like it was the best he could do and how he was even taking some off his 'cut' to give to me etc. I started getting more and more mad. I just wanted to yell that the moey he is 'giving' me is my own money, if anyone is cutting money to give to someone it is the owner op's money to give away.
In the end my anger management skills prevailed and he kicked in $200 more bucks, but he is still a blood sucking vampire.

We have never had issues with TQL. We have been working with this broker for 4 years and I can't say anything realy bad about them. We have been working with the flat bed division which I understand is not like the van and refrigerated divisions. May be because there are not so many flats, I have no idea.
Anyway, yes, sometimes TQL's brokers would post false locations for loads... but not all of them and usually the distance is within 50mi so is not the end of the world; also sometimes there is no way to get in contact with the broker after hours in case of emergency and that's frustrating. But these things may happen with all the brokers not just TQL.
For us they have made all the efforts to have our needs covered and they have always paid in time. I hope nothing changes. -
No no there's no excuse 50 miles is 50 miles. I'm not gonna drive for free. So 50 miles for me is $160 outta my pocket, I'd rather come home with that money.
Im im sorry but the logic you used is retarted,6wheeler Thanks this. -
Have never been able to make any connections and get on a first name basis with anyone at TQL. Have the personal cell of someone I'd consider a friend at CHR someone invited to our next company cookout who will be there I'm sure. Of course making contacts who are regular in spot freight is as much a game of chance as anything but if there is something I'm always seeking out it's contacts to work with consistently. I'll give those brokers I know a chance on any given load whereas people I don't work with regularly and don't know from the man in the moon will get dismissed fairly quickly unless they're willing to pay over a round trip rate. And then there is some freight in which it's a given that a round trip and more is what the customer expects to pay on time critical when the network calls you - because they couldn't find any of us (or any other network carrier) before hand. Don't play me for some fool when we both know that. My contact with CHR doesn't do that ever but been working with that one for a couple of years now. Also understand the give and take nature of the business. There's more flex with people you know than there is with complete strangers.

LB my part of the conversation is I swore off TQL about 6 years ago got pimped on a TONU and never had any good loads from them any way, meaning when the load was over I was always sorry I let myself get talked into it. I don't haul for CHR for mostly the same reasons but I'm still around
