That's pretty lenient. California cdl test says 1/2" play (deflection) is not cut, frayed or missing. There's 32pts on the outside pre-trip. 12 in cab. Brake check then skills test. Brake test is pass or fail. No points. PAY ATTENTION to the steps. Especially the applied pressure test. That one kills people.

Edit: also, make a note of the tires the tractor jas. If you're pre-trip is a dual, there's nothing extra to remember, but super singles, remember the differences. Spacers, no gap, no debris for duals.
Metal parts, remember cracked, damaged or leaking or bent, broken missing. Remember what is gear and belt driven. Air compressor is gear driven. Water pump is the one that's iffy. Some say hear others say belt. Power steering is gear driven. Remember your ranges. Air pressure is 100-125psi. On everything but a Cummings, oil is 40-60psi. A Cummings will be below that. Usually around 30-35psi. Your 12 in cab things and don't forget your fe.t.s (fire extinguisher, triangles, safety belt.) Properly charged and rated, 3 red reflective triangles, seat belt isn't cut or frayed. Locks securely and releases. Heater and defrosted work. (Demonstrate) wipers have proper tension against the windshield. Lights, high beams, 4-way flashers. Left and right signals. Its a lot to remember, bit it comes with practice.

Well Alrighty then! Hope you remember this whole scenario the next time you are having trouble with walking and chewing gum at the same time. All it takes is practice and a bit of help, and things will come together!:biggrin_25525:

HA! Funny. Seriously though, good job. Next hurdle os the dreaded skills test. Mwahahahaha...sorry. It's not that bad. Just watch your tandem tires. They will tell you when to make corrections/maneuvers. When they stop rolling and start turning, time to correct.

    RookieTrucker7 Thanks this.
