Where are you guys getting the $1.55 figure? The title to the thread even says $1.50.
Trying my best to understand this. In CPM do you mean they are paying your exact cost per mile to operate? or to you mean they are paying only Cents Per Mile ie. less than a dollar a mile?
Is it $2.00 up and $1.00 back for an average of $1.50 on the roundtrip?
Someone else wrote it was OK rate at 3000 miles a week? Turlock CA to Sumner WA is 800 miles and takes almost 2 days up 2 days back with a day burned in load/unload/load/unload, best case would be down and back, then back down for 2400 miles a week. I don't think this is a very good deal for a reefer. In dry van leased to my carrier a similar rountrip would pay $1.53 plus I get fuel discounts, if there is hazmat I get more and if I hit certain safety targets there are bonuses.John quinton Thanks this. -
How many trucks are in the area? I was in Chicago earlier this week, booked a good paying load back towards one of my customers, was looking at rates over there today and they are absurd.
-
If you think that's absurd I'll give you a better one. .37/bu on 236 miles.so after doing some quick calculations we have a rate of $320 gross given a person can scale 52000lbs, which figures up to a whopping $1.35/mile loaded and it's going to the wonderful port of catoosa where you can book a wonderful $1.65/loaded mile rate out for a grain trailer. That's absurd and what's even more absurd is they will not have a problem getting it moved.
I'm ready to say screw it and open up a diesel shop...there's going to be a lot of broke down trucks that havent been fixed if the market ever comes back up...but that's probably not smart either as the checks will probably be like a superball in one of those machines from when we were kids.Dominion Transportation, Terry270, spyder7723 and 2 others Thank this. -

Yea no kidding lol

My mechanic only takes cash or certified bank check.

A mechanic should also be willing to take comchecks, efs checks etc. Existing a guy to go get a grand out of the closest atm with his truck in your shop is a bit much.

2.5 to 3.5 ratio as of the 16th individual states. Compared to 0.65 to 0.88 in the midwest. Out going load to truck. As of 7:25 am this morning central time 1070 loads posted in a 200 mile radius of Knoxville. Dry Van. The loads that I am currently seeing with rates posted, not that many considering there are over a 1000 some loads showing this early in the morning goes this way, I see some at 2.00 a mile over 600 some miles and I see some for a 1.00 a mile over 900 some miles. I also see over a 1000 some loads with no rate posted at all.Iron-Man Thanks this.
