In fact, I can’t find ISH out of DFW that isn’t OTR.

I really want to get into car hauling but the FEW I can find want years of car hauling experience and are paying way less than $30 an hour as well

my second choice would be regional or otr dedicated but I can’t find those in the DFW either. Atleast nothing netting over $1000 a week.

is this just a Dallas thing?

I only have dry van experience. When I go to their site it says 1 year of specialized trailer experience

    They're hedging.

Either they want the previous car hauling experience -- or not.

Apply for the job anyway. If you get an interview -- let them bring up the subject of "specialized trailer".

They all deserve atomic wedgies for being so terribly vague.

It's an economy thing. We're in a depression and very unstable. You should just take any local job you can stand and wait for things to (hopefully) improve.

Can I be honest? The skill required of a dry van driver and a car hauler differs greatly from the driving aspect same with cattle hauling. Be warned if you find lax company requirements you might be stepping into something you cannot recover depending on the circumstances. There are Chicago-like companies in DFW and they run fuel companies and other stuff when you go to leave they will hurt your trucking career put bogus stuff on reports, making you look unhireable. Had a buddy haul fuel there and they want 6 months driving I told him no reputable company only wants 6 months to haul fuel he joined the circus thinking he was lucky well that company found another sucker. They did all kinds of shady things ELD whats a eld they said this is America freedom the list other things was much worse but only started from there he got pulled over and they reported he stole there truck to save from being liable for no eld and bunch other things he got the stolen off his record with a lawyer after he been booked and processed, he left trucking completely.

Your point above is well made.

With Hogan....however ....things are a bit different.

I've watched them post for this same job before.

Previously -- it was a job where a newcomer to the auto hauling business could come -- & get the necessary training to get in that side of the industry.

Now -- they've added this cute "specialized trailer" vague nonsense. Well, what does that mean? Flatbed? Step deck? Tanker? Something else? Each of those is its own world....& skill set.

My point is this: stop it with the BS -- either you you're accepting car hauler rookies -- or.... you're not.
