Thanks for the replies, I had no intentions of trying to hide the accident.

I never knew that I could hurt in so many places. Soon I will have to deal with the insurance adjusters and I have a feeling that I will be hurting in one more place after that. :biggrin_2554:

i should also point out to another possible situation for you. some companies may want a copy of the police/accident report since this accident is so recent. what you could do is, go to the police station, or where ever the report went to, and get a photo copy or 2.....the cost of a police report can't be more than all of $5.00 each (if that)... you keep a copy. then IF the prospective employer wants a copy of this report, fax it to them or include a copy in your application package....DO NOT volunteer this report, UNLESS they ask for it.

just something to keep in mind....

You'll be hurting for sure. I was in a demolition derby once. I was sore for 3 days after it.

Check kbb.com and get your cars book value so you have a number to work with when you talk with the adjuster.

All you can really do is apply at the truck companies. December 7 2007 I was driving to work in heavy wind and rain, a lady in front of me tapped her brakes, I then moved over one lane to go around her but my left rear tire bounced on a reflector in the road and the tire came back down on a sheet of water starting the truck going sideways hydroplaning down the road sideways. I of course panicked after trying to steer into it didn't work and hit the brakes. I went sideways into a guardrail and clamped my eyes tight shut waiting/hoping for a painless death as the Sporttrac rolled down an embankment 1.5 times landing on the roof. I turned off the lights, put the 4 ways on, turned off the engine put the keys in my pocket, grabbed my cell that was still charging (could see the glow lol) undid the seatbelt and hurt my neck when my 220 pound body weight was put on it.

Anyway, long story long, I've been out here for about 6 months driving the big truck despite the accident on my record. Here's the aftermath, kinda blurry I know.

Accidents that are not your fault DO go on your record.

I had two awhile back, neither were my fault but it's on my record.

And yes it will affect if a company will hire you. They look at someone like me maybe
and say "well the accidents weren't his fault but he still had two of em." Your fault
of not some people are more accident prone than others.:biggrin_25524:

    Rant on.................

    This SUCKS CANAL WATER........

Accidents happen......I don't care how long you've been driving or what the circumstances....ACCIDENTS HAPPEN.

    That's why they're called accidents.

What chaps my arse is that company safety directors ALWAYS come up with the programmed "Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda" reasons why you COULD and SHOULD have avoided the accident.

Freaking worse than Monday Morning Quarterbacks.

If someone COULD have avoided the wreck or incident in question and they didn't.........Shouldn't it be called an "ON PURPOSE" instead of an accident.

    Rant off.......................

i know, it does suck for my former student. the poor guy was besides himself when he got turned down. then more turn downs after that due to the recentness of the accident. he told me he will wait 1 full year, come back for a refresher, then re-apply to some of those jobs again. he's told me, he's been driving on "egg shells" since then...

My accident in June wasn't even close to as bad as this one and I have gotten many 'no's.' While exiting a two lane traffic circle from the left lane (legal), but crossed the path of another car who decided to go straight instead of turning (also allowed). Unfortunately for me, her battery burst in the accident causing a small engine fire. Since the word 'fire' appears on the Police Report and it is considered my fault (although I was not ticketed), I have been rejected by at least 6 companies. What made me angry was that USXpress and Swift withdrew their 'pre-hire' letters since neither company decided to read the Police Report I attached until I decided to go with them. As of now, I have no yeses. And once again, my accident wasn't even half as bad as yours, so good luck.
