I see drivers pulling 53’ trailers with the tandems slid all the way to the rear. I bet the local curbs take a beating?:thin:

And they wonder why there’s this driver shortage we keep hearing about. I sure can’t imagine planning to make a career with a company who would be on my case for hitting a curb.

Just another narrative for the trucking industry to eliminate the human driver and usher in the self driving truck panacea.

The first question is, why are you driving for a company that has cameras and are watching them close enough to see a curbed tire. Now you’re going to pay for it with your record. Dump the company and get a better job.

Right now you could find a new job even if your MVR had you hitting a group of school kids in a crosswalk going 40 MPH in a school zone. Just find another job if you don't like it.

I don't know the op, and he didn't give a lot of details so we can only guess at what happened.

We all know that sometimes curbs are unavoidable. However we also know that most curbs ARE avoidable.

@skellr had a bulging a few days ago - another driver caused it, but he dealt with the bad tire.
    Tire bulge

Whose to say that another driver didn't pick up the trailer and complained about the damage?

And what was the OP's attitude when the manager talked to him? I know plenty of "come on, man" conversations that have escalated to official write up due to poor attitudes.

Some companies have cameras that are both an incident camera and a remote view camera.
A lot of companies say they don have remote view access, and a lot of them are lying ########.

That said I hut curbs all the time with the places I deliver to. Do a little off roading on the occasion as well.

I don't see why they'd get upset, hell sometimes I aim for the curb simply because I'd rather run it over good then nick the wheel or scuff my bumper.

Long as you ain't dragging an axle or making ruts in someones yard its a non issue.

There's a easy solution to this.. a 5.00 roll of duct tape.. cut a piece stick it over the camera lense
