How old is your criminal record?
Do you have any DUI's? If you do, how old are they?
Where is your location; state and nearest town/city?

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Sorry to hear that, life can sure throw you some curve balls. I don't mean to use you as an example, but you're as good as it gets. People out of options today, naturally think, heck, I can drive a truck, how hard can it be? And our highways are littered with accidents from unqualified people, that for some reason, passed their CDL test, but have no idea what the job involves. If you have a bad record, look elsewhere. While unqualified drivers do make it in, it's imperative to start with a clean record. Insurance today mandates that. Best of luck, it just won't be in trucking, sorry.

Several ways to go about this and here's one:
    ~
NCWorks Online - NC Eligible Training Provider List
    https://www.ncworks.gov/gsipub/index.asp?docid=504
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires Training Providers to apply to the State Workforce Agency (NC Division of Workforce Solutions) and to be approved by at least one Local Workforce Development Board for eligibility to receive WIOA funds. The publicly accessible Statewide List of Eligible Training Providers includes all training programs that are currently approved

Apply to some trucking companies that have their own cdl training.
Best to apply online with the application on the websites.
Don't call first, apply online, then someone will contact you if the company is interested.
