It’s not next to nothing. Regardless of what you think you know it costs money. It’s also a truck with lower revenue for a few weeks while you learn their system.

The tanker company I just started at was local to me so no transportation or hotel costs. But there was one day of office stuff where that employee was with me most of the day and not available to do their regular duties. Next was two weeks with a trainer where I got paid $30 and hour and the guy I was with got extra pay on top of his regular pay. That was a little over $3k to me, plus however much extra the trainer was getting.

Also the job I have now wasn’t advertised. It was word of mouth that I was interested in learning tank work and was ready to sell my truck for the opportunity to do so.

You can justify your choices all you want, you’re a new driver and you’ve made choices that haven’t helped you in this industry and you’re fixing to make another one that isn’t going to end well.

I’m not attacking you. Just giving you good advice from someone who’s been around long enough to know better.

Poorly functioning brake systems cause accidents when slack adjusters go bad, wheel seals leak fluid all over brake shoes or cracked brake drums are too thin to dissipate heat from rolling down mountains. Good drivers don't turn the key in the first place under those conditions.

I don't make 14 an hour. I make more than that .I get nothing out of pitching the company to you. They are simply one of the best companies I have worked for. I'm not saying it's the end all be all for trucking. I thought it would be a good opportunity for u and so I spoke up. Because I had an experienced hand offer me the same opportunity when I went to dsv to do a lease purchase . He got 0 dollars for recruiting me but he thought it may be a good option for someone like me to get into the business and learn.. And that's exactly what it turned out to be. I could've made way more money somewhere else, but the life and business experience I gained was priceless and I'm forever grateful to the people that I worked with there. I paid off my truck, completed the contract I said I would and then ventured out on my own and have took ### kicking after ### kicking since then. If only u knew how much pride I had to swallow after being In business for 5 years and being fairly succsful, to lose all that to go back and be a company hand . On my 34hr reset I get at home I spend it wrenching on my equipment for which I still owe A lot of money on, yet the money coming in disappears in an instant.. I have had to reevaluate my timeline for accomplishing what I want to do, and I've learned that's perfectly ok.. Its better than just throwing in the towel and saying the world sucks and poor me.. Nothing good in life ever comes easy, sometimes u got to put pride and money aside to work towards a bigger picture..

I said all that to say u really got to do some soul searching to figure out what u are trying to do in this Industry. For some its ownership, building a fleet or just being a 1 man band. Others like to be a nomad and live on the road, or stack cash and retire young. Others do this to support a family. Figure out what it is u want to do and find an opportunity to get u there. Worry about pride, money and glory for another day

I admit I've piled on here. It's funny, the container is so outrageous and so I can't help myself.

One thing nobody has mentioned. From the pics it looks like there are no permanent structures, all shipping containers.
It looks like they could pack up and be gone in a day or two.
Almost like they aren't planning for the long game.

They're not listed on Google Maps either. I found that odd at first until I started digging.

How dare you suggest that someone who has had their operating authority revoked multiple times might not be 100% on the up and up.

You have received a bunch of great advice, from a bunch of hands much older, and much more experienced than I profess to be. And I would run like all git out from that job. It has bad news written all over it, HOWEVER if you still decide to go for it, would you please post a picture of the truck they give you? I’d like to see what kind of iron can get a safety score like that. Thanks in advance!
