Dude go get your MMC and Coast Guard physical .... You already have a Twic and a Passport I assume .... With all of those you can be on a deep seaship walking on as an Ordinary Seaman or Wiper , seeing new countries, learning new skills, living rent free, saving money and three hot meals a day ....it's an exciting lifestyle that would be ideal for your situation .... ....... In the beginning you start netting around 1000 a week .....After 180 days of sea time you start clearing 8-10k a month.....that's take home pay after just 6 months of experience.... Work only 6-8 months a year

Well you make it sound pretty decent, I’ll have to look into it. You’re not the first one to suggest that. It’s one of the first things Chinatown said to me lol.

I have my Ordinary Seaman certificate. Being a Navy Veteran, I went to the Coast Guard office in Memphis and showed my DD-214 and that was all there was to it. Could have taken tests for a higher rank, but declined.

First impression was it’s actually pretty cool. The wall is made from old shipping containers and the yard was full of trucks and trailers. I just did a quick drive by so I didn’t talk to anyone.

7speed, Lonesome, sukhumvit and 2 others Thank this.

Not so much anymore. It is where all the new warehouses and new housing communities are.
