I guess I’m not in a legit spot right now then.
Hint: It’s dang hard to get painted lines to stay put in a gravel parking lot.
Oversize loads and long trucks/trailers have to park just like everyone else. It’s not their fault that most truck stops are designed for nothing but short wheelbase tractors and dry vans.
In my opinion, if you hit a parked truck, it’s your dang fault.
I got backed into at the truck stop - is it my fault?

I wasn’t oversized, but - paranoid about parking in a truck stop, I had backed in just a little more to protect the hood.
The real issue raised between the lines in the post is responsibility and how to handle situations where one needs to man up and admit fault, respectfully and accept any consequences.
It’s missing in society these days.TrucKer 999 TriLLion, whoopNride, Feedman and 3 others Thank this. -

It's well established that I'd probably pay for parking before he did, so basically they will be having ice tea in hell before that happens.
So it's a moot point.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -

I have parked a wide load in two spots and someone backed into my mirror.
Park a wide load at sunset and watch the lot fill up, it’s amazing to see how many different ways drivers line up to get in a spot. Kind of like Walmart on food stamp day.
How do you suggest drivers with long trucks park? I try to stay in a safe place where I won’t get blocked in by others but it ain’t always possible.!whoopNride, Oxbow, blairandgretchen and 2 others Thank this. -

Now the Pete is trembling in fear, watching the space to it's right, all the chicken lights on, hoping an ex yard jockey comes along to park beside me. Or that 'musical chairs' ran out and nobody wants to pay for the spot.
Well, I paid with my monopoly money Flyting J points - but STILL - I paid for parking.
Because my ankle bracelet dictated I needed to waste fuel to gain time, and put myself on the other side of a metropolitan area for the morning, and I needed to insure myself against zero parking options. The plan worked with 5 minutes to spare. But I sure passed a lot of traffic on I-70 in MO tonight.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
