Get a few more drugs. Preferrably mind altering. You’ll fit right into management. :)

For the record, The FMCSA only prohibits the schedule 1 substances and ALL medications used to control seizures. There is some confusion on this. The FMCSA now leaves most of these medications and other health-related things in regard to a drivers fitness up to the driver's physician and the medical examiner. Yes the FMCSA does recommend in their Medical Examiners handbook to not certify a driver using some medications it is JUST A RECOMMENDATION NOT a prohibition, that I agree most MEs will follow.

I have not checked the medication the OP said they were taking to see what the FMCSA position on it was. However, that blood pressure thing MUST be controlled. I would also recommend keeping a close watch on blood sugar too.

I'm in the OPs corner. However, I highly recommend the OP try to lose some of that weight. This will make it so much easier to get past these physicals.

I would recommend you find something else. The weight is the problem, causes a lot of problems and could be a huge problem for you on the road. The anti-depressant is also an issue but that's because we don't know why you are prescribed it.

Too bad dude, no body likes me, my cats try to figure out my demise daily, I'm use to it.

You can listen to what others say and then get into the truck just to go through seriously health problems because of it, this isn't work that you get to be just a truck driver, there is a lot of stress involved ... sometimes a lot of physical stress where it can cause issues like cardiac events.

I discourage people to stop them to think, not to beleive this is an easy thing and it isn't a job where this should be easy to get into as a last resort,

And more importantly as one who interviews people to hire them, I see a lot of things others never do.

One thing that I do see a lot are people who have marginal health issues and ignore it.

One person is just like you, he was turned down by me and he ended up working for a company in Detroit, and almost dying because he ignored his health issues --->>> the work he was doing brought it all out and collapsed on the docks from a cardiac event.

Now would you rather have people tell you to ignore your health and lie about it to an examiner or have someone like me go against the crowd and tell you to first take care of yourself then seek out a good job after?

In the world of trucking, it takes some remarkable self-discipline to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Hard to take the time to walk and exercise. The food choices are horrible. I see 2 things that happen because of this. High Blood Pressure and Diabetes. I am also starting to notice more and more that drivers are taking "other" medications. The thing is I can sit here and say all kinds of things, but in the end, it is the OPs life. All it takes is just one health problem and poof there goes the livelihood. I know of several drivers today that have lost medicals and can't get back on the road. Both refuse to listen to their physicians. I'm in the OPs corner like I said. I hope the OP makes the changes needed.

Some people have tact, some don’t.

Truth is, this industry can be very hard on people. The stress levels can at times go off the charts. There will be times that decisions need to be made right now. A lot of interaction with people your not or never will get along with. Times you want to say or do things, but for the sake of not making things worse, you shut up and move on.

So why tell you this. Stress cranks up the cortisol levels.
If your using both blood pressure and anti-anxiety meds, they are going to cause problems. They are going to not work correctly. This can and will cause you serious problems. If your blood pressure goes to an extreme, you could pass out. Quite frankly, if your driving and it happens, you kill people. This can and has happened to drivers.

Right now, you probably have a somewhat stable living arrangement. A mostly regular schedule. Most everything you do on a daily basis is about the same time.
Should you start driving, your going not have that.

Before you get all wrapped up in getting into truck driving, go see your medical provider. Tell them you want to be a truck driver. See what they have to say about it.

This guy tells it how it is you may not like what he says but sometimes you need to stop sugar coating stuff for people's own good. An example I have been told reduce my physical activities due to injuries, that I caused via fighting, work, and much other dumb stuff on my part. I want to do certain stuff but if I want to work for the next 20 years I have to change my habits. You need to take care yourself if you don't couple years your gonna have more issues until you can't have issues anymore.
