I have to do OTR starting out?

It’s 97% for many reasons. Some are people hear the pay for trucking starts high (in their eyes) at 50k (even though many bottom feeders lie their way) and they’re assuming it’s a 9-5 job come in and realize that they actually have to work and run away. Some can’t stand being home away for long. Some realized they can make more money working the same hours in another profession. Some grow tired of the bottom feeder carriers abusing them by running them ragged and run. Many other reasons.

 

A friend of mine works for an air gas company. The cdl drivers usually drive straight trucks, and go home to their own beds every night. Theres a flavor for every taste in this industry. I am one who loves otr and the lifestyle it offers. But my kids are grown, and my husband drives with me, so all I need it right here in my truck. Answer chinatowns questions. Hes our local job expert, and he can be an awesome help.

 

I started LTL (food) they hire people with no experience because most driver don’t wanna trow fright. I like it at u make good money

 

Any good local jobs around Jacksonville Florida without OTR experience?

 

It also depends on how bad you want it. Some people aren't going to put much effort into their career and just take whatever. If there is a specific job you want start getting on it if that means going otr, or not. Sometimes you just gotta try jobs and different types of trucking.

 

Man up and go otr. Come back after a year
