My first full time job too. Took the job when they threw my drunken butt out of college. I worked in "criminal justice" too! It was a print shop at Calhoun correctional facility. $0.18/hour! DOC# 897###. LOL
I have two driving jobs, can i get in trouble?

BTW, I really did work for Coca-Cola in 1981, and they really did give me that hat. We did punch in and out.

Bottom line, if you have a drving job that requires you to log your time and limits your driving to 60 or 70 hours a week, it is fine to have a second job but I don't care if it is flipping burgers, you must log that time on Line 4 and won't be legal to drive on Monday til you have had an adequate break to get legal time back.
Little known factoid as well, say your rig is parked in your driveway and there you are with a soapy bucket and rags washing your truck, sipping on an ice cold beer, better be on LIne 4 as well, that is 'conditioning' your truck. -
Local drivers don't have to do a log book. They can substitute a time card instead. but they still must follow hos rules. The rules are just slightly different for a local guy.Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

hmm I new about the time but I remember well over 70 hour weeks depending on my route and time of year.

Ya local companies are well known to fudge the books as far as time cards go. In a dot audit they can just say every hour over 60 was spent on the dock. cause remember, even otr that 60/70 rule only applies to driving hours. You could work another fifty hours on duty not driving, just can't drive till you get hours back.TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this.

your wrong , any work done , that you get compensated for is to be considered and countd against your 70 hours......fire-fighters do this quite often , they drive on their days off...they are required to count all hours on duty at the fire department , and any other job they have...

If he's getting paid it does....

Tony. That guy is trying to argue that since the op didn't specifically say he his job required a cdl, the hours if service don't apply to him. Cause you know, we get lots of bartenders and factory workers here asking if they need a log book.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.
