Valid point. I guess if it's a dual income, 26k could be acceptable. If I wasn't married, it would be enough. It really comes down to how comfort you are with your standard of living too. Depending on where you live, that's plenty, I guess.

By close to you mean is the starting rate - at least for Midwest regional. I make 45 CPM base, with a 3 CPM bonus. Most drivers with more than three years experience will easily clear 60k

Yep, 2500 miles with a student, 3000 miles a week solo, on average working 5.5 days a week on average. The only thing stopping me from getting more miles is that pesky 70 hour rule.

For some of us, our lives don't revolve around working. But you do what makes your family happy

I never realized Schneider paid that well on the company side. Still wouldn't be for me but that's just a personal choice...I could make do as long as the miles are there...probably couldn't deal with the higher ups. It's hard enough dealing with them even when I can refuse their silly requests. Lol

In the meantime enjoying a couple days at my parents house in Jersey. Took my current load through the house. It's a Target load that can't be in Wilton NY till Monday anyway with that $1000 fine BS if you deliver early.

Already booked myself back to Texas and escaped for a decent rate

Hopefully your load to Texas has better weather. Last night was awful in west Texas, severe thunderstorms, high winds with gusts up to 55+, there were 2 tornados that touched down near Odessa according to the weather station, and between Odessa and Sweetwater there were 3 semi trucks that had jacked knifed blocking traffic. Had one truck jack knife in front of me. After that I said screw it and parked. I only had 12k in the box. I wasn't in the mood to become a statistic. I'm hoping it's better today.
