Even a non-cdl truck driving job will help in the future; take what you can get for now.

90% of companies require 5 years for dui I had a dui like 6 years ago I now have a great paying flatbed job. My advice get with anyone willing to hire you starting out I know transam will hire you after 2 years they are not a good company buts it’s experience also mesilla valley 2 years there is a bunch of companies that require 3 years most tho 5 years. Tankers are usually 7 years places like Walmart require 10 years. It’s definately possible tho my buddy had a 2 year old dui went to transam as did I we did okay. He’s now running at quest. Guy actually almost got another dui. It was reduced to a reckless driving but he still has that job he gets paid straight salary too they only require 3 years at quest but it’s a team job.

Chinatown stated it has to be under 15 mph over limit. Otherwise the trucking companies will see it in a very bad light.

"Its just a..." is against the intolerance of the industry seeking drivers with better or clean records. It's driven by insurance people who provide coverage to the company seeking drivers. Insurance is the one that decides who gets jobs, not the company. If they wont cover you then the company has to say sorry not hiring you.

Maybe wait until it’s 3 years old. You will have no trouble then and after 5 pretty much no one cares.

A guy at my job just got a dui. He’s on time out for a year and once he gets his cdl back he’ll be working again.

Get a job running a forklift somewhere loading trucks then get your cdl for free by having them train you in a truck.

I have known several drivers that have gotten one here, the companies here puts them back in a truck the day they get it reinstated. That said they were already drivers and preferred drivers at that, that does not work for a mediocre driver, and may well be hard starting out with one.

If nothing else, look for jobs with a construction company, dirt trucks, swimming pool contractors, you will actually learn more about a truck and quicker than you ever will running freight for a mega carrier.

Yeah, I’m in construction. Company doesn’t really care plus the union would get him his job back anyways.

If you land a good construction job you will make just as much if not more than OTR.

I could never go back to lie books and looking for a place to sleep and all that.
