Sounds like years ago the right palms got greased along the way.intrepidor, Mike2633, LtlAnonymous and 1 other person Thank this.
-
This is kind of it. Bill Zollars, the douche who created the YRC Frankenstein, sits on the government board that voted to give YRC money because they were "too vital" to fail.Mike2633, Opus, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.
-
SO,,is this the end of the "BIG R" as we knew it?
Mike2633 and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
Yeah. But it's also the end of USF Holland, and really the old Yellow from before the merger, too. All three were great companies to work for. YRC, not so much.Mike2633, road_runner and 201 Thank this.
-
Aren't there laws against this? (he said, as though the rule of law had any bearing on America any more)Mike2633 and LtlAnonymous Thank this.
-
Sure! But Zollars has the one thing that can defeat the law. Money.nredfor88, Mike2633, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this.

Nothing the tax payers can't fund. The stupidity which is YRC (or now Yellow) figured out how to convince Congress to pass them a lifeline of cash just to make payroll and pay for our benefits. All while the promise of using funds for new equipment is probably getting rerouted to fund whatever corporate lavishes they want.JoeyJunk, LtlAnonymous, Cardfan89 and 2 others Thank this.

This whole thing is both bizarre and almost overwhelming.
We now have Roadway and really old Yellow trailers sitting next to Holland equipment, then some of our new trucks have a giant Yellow sticker slapped over the old Holland logo. Then a TTR friend that I am friends with on Facebook says he is driving a green truck with a Yellow logo on the side while his mudflaps say New Penn.
To add to the bizarre, a Reddaway trailer showed up into our yard today. The closest USF Reddaway terminal is 1600 miles away in Colorado. Like how did it make it all the way down here?
The Shadow, MACK E-6, Mike2633 and 3 others Thank this. -
They must have really gone out of the way to get it there. TNT companies never mixed equipment like that. Desmond Guy must be rolling over in his grave. The Shadow and bzinger Thank this.
