Paper gets printed once a year,,, so unless it is a multi year construction job it will not be correct.

I provided an example in a later post.

While travelling I90 westbound in Illinois, I needed to exit and travel across the interstate going South on IL-59.

When the GPS was set to prefer interstates, it misrouted me, having me travel farther West on i90, exit, then come East on i90 to the correct exit again.

When the GPS was set to avoid small roads, it routed properly.

Whether or not interstate exchanges with ramps and bridges connected to lesser roads are literally interstates really isn't the question here. Routing is.

Like I said, it worked perfectly by only changing a single setting. Interstate preferred to avoid small roads.

If you still need more info, I can provide it later. Not in a position to retrieve that info now.

I need all your settings. That is the only way I can duplicate the routing.

    Farmerbob1 Thanks this.

    1. You have set to Prefer Freeways - so it will try to keep you on major Interstate roads at all times. Regardless if it is a Ramp or overpass, you Prefer Major Roads. It will keep you on major roads till it cannot keep you on them and then run secondary roads.

If you had done a Compare routes which it should have popped up for Toll differences, you would have noticed route 2 (Green) would have routed you on I-90 to IL-59.

    2. Avoid small roads is not the solution or the issue. Small roads are usually the little state roads.

    3. If you changed to ALLOW All, it routes you correctly the way you wanted to go on IL-59.

So the router did what you asked it to due based upon the route choices and your settings.

Ramps and Overpasses are not an issue along with Small Roads. Simple a setting from Prefer to Allow.

    1st is compare
    2nd is 2nd route selected
    3rd is Allow all

I have a TND 720 and I have also noticed some issues as well with routing, but in my settings I have my truck weight set at 79K. So some routes don't like the fact that I'm going down a road that it thinks I'm to heavy for even if I know I'm not. Once I start down that road, the unit usually reroutes me with no issues.

Let's post this in the support thread so we don't start another thread when one is present.
