After many months of reading reading reading watching watching watching I pretty much decided to go with Roehl Transport but i have questions.
I'm going to get my CDL through them and i read i must drive for them for 15 months or i have to pay them back for the schooling. Does anyone know if i do leave them before 15 months how much i would have to pay? What is the cost of the school?
Also I was going to see if i qualify for the WIA program to pay to go to a private school for a CDL but it seems like a huge hassle to get the funding. Am i better off going to a private school or going through Roehl to get my CDL?
I'm in Pennsylvania if that matters.
I think i finally picked a company to start with Roehl

no for the love of god it is not a hassle to get 4000 dollar given to you. that's what I did and I'm sure its different for the states but all it entailed was about 3 office visits, workkeys test, and a 2 hour resume writing/interview skills class. not the mention they paid back my gas getting to and from school, and 100 bucks for both classes I took.
a quick call to them will figure out the cost you would have to pay back I would assume the total would be somewhere around 5000 bucks. but trust me, for the little effort involved in WIA its worth it to know you aren't under any obligation for anything. You may decide you don't like driving after a few months, its not for everyone, no big deal, but now your forced to or pay a bunch of money. You may meet someone that could get you in the door at a way better job, but now you cant cause you have 7 months left or whatever. UTILIZE THE WIA PROGRAM!! the government is willing to completely cover your schooling for certain trades not eligible for federal financial aid (anything less than an associates basically). why would you pass that up and be a glorified slave to a company instead of that?
most CDL schools will allow WIA to cover it fully, just look around you'll find one no problem. -

Last year when I talked to a Roehl recruiter, it was $5000. However, they pay you $500 per week for the month that the school lasts when other companies don't, so you got to take that into account.
Do whatever to get free money you can, though. Also, check out tech schools/community colleges near you. Many private schools will finance you. I have heard it is also pretty easy to get a personal loan from a bank. Lots of options. -
There are two extremes in the cdl process. The company pays for your schooling, and you are indebted to them for x amount of time. The other is, you pay for everything, go out and buy your own truck, with cash of course, and answer to nobody. Most fit somewhere in the middle. Nothing is free dude or dudette. You just decide how much you are willing to pay. Good luck to ya.

The state has programs to pay for CDL school, so start checking on that.
Study the CDL practice tests on here and check YouTube for instructions on how to Pre-trip trucks & trailers.
Pre-trip is the hardest part of CDL school.
Several companies hire felons. The CDL school may want you to have pre-hire letters from a couple of companies before letting you enroll, and that's no problem getting those.
Put your location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in.
Keep your $5000.00 cash and let the state pay for school. There should be state funding available to help people that have been injured/on disability, to transition to the work force. We pay taxes to fund programs like this, so take advantage of this benefit.

May be better to find a way to get the financing and attend school on your own dime. Not that there is anything wrong with getting your training thru Roehl but down the line when you get experience and want to move on and up you will have that "loan" hanging over your shoulder. You may or may not be in a position to take on the added debt. You don't want life or career changing decision made by the fact that you will owe them back.
I don't know where in PA you are but around my area I see alot of people going to HACC to get their training.Don't know the specifics but you may qualify for some kind of financing. It may seem like a hassle to have to search for all the details but in the long run you'll be happy you did. -
