Hello,
I've been playing phone tag with a recruiter from Prime. I asked a lot of Q's by email because he always calls when I'm working. He will not answer anything by email and seems frustrated that I can't answer the phone when he's ready.
He also seemed upset when I quoted Indeed's salary range of 44K a year, when he had quoted me 60K as average. I wanted to know if they practice eating into their sleeper berth time to get loads done, have heard truckers do this to stay legal. He was annoyed, said they go by DOT regulations. I keep explaining I'm not worried about getting routed home, just worried about what hours realistically I'll work, and how much rest I will get a week. He said 34 hr reset and 4 weeks on 4 days off (home).
I don't really have a home to get back to, I work in a certain area right now but am mobile. The lure of the job is the travel part, I want to see as much as possible. He doesn't seem to understand that. I would like to stay otr, but I want to make sure I get rest and have time to do things that make me happy and healthy (workout, run, etc).
I don't want to run team, train anybody, just on my own, reefer.
Thanks for any information!![]()
I want to chat w a Prime company driver...

I'm not with prime but I do run otr reefer... I drive 10 to 11 hrs a day... take 10 hrs off Duty/sleeper berth to shower, eat, restroom, and sleep. 30 to 60 mins during day for bathroom stops and stretch legs. And then do ot all over again. My daily cycle is usually about 22 hrs. Days that I load or unload will sometimes be longer days with less driving. Im on the road 5 to 7 days then home for 34 hr reset, and back on the road again.

I'm in Hurricane, UT. No CDL, was debating company training through Prime or going to a school while I work. Either way I have to do DOT exam and permit test before I proceed. I don't think either of those will be an issue.
