I was picking up this deadly hazmat load and ....

.... I checked in and the guy said let's go see your truck... he inspects... like a pre-trip ... very thorough.... and he said do you know what this chemical is? And I had read up on it... said yes I know what it is... he said are you sure you want this load... and I say yes as he hands me the papers and starts going over how to handle it... what else was I suppose to do because I'm there to pick this stuff up... then he says.... the last three drivers came and left after I talked to them... are you sure you want to take this load? Are you sure? Very sure? .....

And I said yes yes yes and he shook his head and got me loaded. Jeez. So anybody else have this kind of 'training' from a shipper? What the heck was that all about?

 

I'd rather not say, don't really want to inadvertently reveal who the shipper is. Only a few ship it in small restricted quantities. It's deadly though.

 

It was bulk container, but only two half filled vats. I get paid well for hazmat but honestly I don't know how well... because my co. doesn't tell me the whole story. I take whatever comes my way, whatever and they would run me with hazmat 24/7 if that were legal.
