I went over my 11 last night by 8 minutes.

After posting, I did more research which proves my private property post to be full of false info. Public property is property paid for by state and federal taxes. I.e. national parks and such.

I've always felt that ultimately the ones any audit might search for are so-called habitual offenders, not the drivers who go a few minutes over a given clock every once in a while.

What's the big deal about doing that? Say I arrive early and park and wait for them to open. I legally can't drive into their gate when they do. Am I supposed to tell them to wait until my computer says I'm rested? They'll tell me to reschedule the appointment God only knows how many DAYS later. I will use pc to go in there and deliver the load.

We need some common sense answers to all this crap.

I believe the OP said he was off duty waiting for a parking space, and was automatically kicked to driving while driving to the space. Since he wasn't being paid to drive over to that space, I can't see how it isn't off-duty. But it doesn't matter, it is not illegal to drive on private property after your eleventh hour.

Nah, just run strictly "by the book" and hold up the little green book as you tell 'em if they don't like it, to take it up with their congressman because this elog BS really has your hands tied as to what you may or may not be able to do without that stupid elog ratting you out. When business owners (campaign donors) start chewing the congressmen a new rear end because of the unintended consequences that have resulted from their bone-headed mandates, causing aggravation for those campaign donors.

Too many pages to go thru but wondering what was the outcome of going over your 11?I don't see it as a big deal especially since you was already at a safe haven waiting to park. But too many times going over You will hear about it from the log dept. From now on I would use the last hour of your shift finding a place to park instead of the last few minutes.

The OP didn't say in his post that he was kicked onto Driving. He said that the Qualcomm started flashing and beeping a warning. It will do that. When you are over your hours it will flash and give that warning, but that doesn't mean it has gone to Driving. You have to trigger the Driving by going over the parameters set by your company. I've been on E-logs for 7 years and on many occasions moved around a truckstop a few feet or a customers yard into a dock with the light flashing. When you stop you just clear the light and message as the E-log has not gone to Driving. No big deal.

Why don't you tell him that instead of me? He stated his elog flagged him for an eleven hour driving violation. I only posted to this thread to give him advice.

I think the OP left the country for a few days until the heats off (per my earlier advice).

I just hope he made it and isn't sitting in "the hole" for the rest of his life.
