Heh. That was my diet up until 3 months ago. 5' 9" and 240 lbs. Last November I had a stroke. Level 4 on the NIH scale which is considered a borderline moderate stroke. I laid in a hospital bed for a week, the right side of my body was pretty much paralyzed. Right arm, right leg, and the right side of my face. In the time since I have gone from a wheelchair to a four-wheel walker to a cane and have lost 40 lbs. I still have concentration problems and short term memory loss. Doctor says I'll never drive again. He says the chances of having another stroke within 5 years is about 50%. I'm 61 and had planned on working another 5 years. You younger overweight guys with bad diets and think it can't happen to you, go ahead and keep rolling the dice.

Now the smoking I'd do not agree with. Shortened my dad's life by 20 yrs. As in what your eating you can eat what you want as long as your not going over calories. Excess calories is what packs the lbs on. You might be eating all of this stuff but in moderation and not knowing you are. Other people will gorge themselves when they eat this stuff. You also seem like you have good genes too. My buddy has good genes but as of late has been paying attention to his calories cause he can't fight off the weight like he used to. He eats fast food everyday but keeps it in moderation and exercise 3 times a week and just had blood work done and is considered healthy at 38 he's 6'2" 205lb.

Well HDD you obviously have unbelievably high metabolic rate to eat/ drink that. If you like that stuff then keep on going. Each to his own. I wouldn't do it, but then I can put weight on pretty easy. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. Mr Healthy diet that doesn't smoke. I don't fit the profile that describes the typical trucker, but everybody is different. You have to enjoy what you like. Nobody is going to force you to eat healthy stuff.
    good luck

Excuse me... I am vegetarian. Have been vegetarian for 33 years and I look very healthy and I am full of energy. :yes2557: I can run fast, and jump and swim and run up a hill like many 25 year old person can't. I generally sleep 6 hrs per night and work hard with no signs of being tired. I am skinny, very skinny but more due to my genes than to my diet. This idea that vegetarians are weak is not accurate at all. :biggrin_25512: I feel strong, despite of my age... rarely get sick, and haven't taken any medicine for years. Have no high blood pressure, no diabetes, no high cholesterol, etc, etc... Some folks here in the forum have met me in person and they can say I don't look my age. :biggrin_2554:
I don't know about others... I speak for myself. I love being vegetarian, enjoy having all the energy and the good health that I have and don't intend to change it.
As for the OP, I hope he find the right diet for him and the best way to achieve his goals. Good luck Joe. :biggrin_25519:
